Chapter 6 - Working with Objects

In Web Studio, objects are the building blocks for your pages. You add an object such as a button or divider from the galleries, or from the insert menu, or by dragging and dropping a file onto the page. You can combine objects to create more complex objects. Or you can type text or insert text from another program.

Unlike most other programs, WebStudio doesn’t distinguish between its different types of objects for most general operations. An object is simply a container of “stuff”; text, graphic, button, HTML, thumbnails, etc. Therefore the same rules for moving, sizing, adding, and so on apply whether the object contains text, photos, animations, or anything else.

Objects can be moved, sized, copied and pasted, assigned special attributes such as locked size, links, and more. If you’re not happy with an object’s location, you can position it on the page by dragging it or by using precise measurements. If you want to work with more than one object at a time, you can select and move a group of objects at one time.

These videos will illustrate how to work with objects in this general way.
