Web Studio FAQ & Answers

How do I add links and anchors to other pages, other sites, or to email?

Adding a Link to Something
To add a link to something, you simply drag a link from the Links gallery onto it. You can add links to a graphic object (like a button or photo) or a text object, or any other object that can have a link. It is that simple!

To Add Links From One Page to Another in Your Site
  • Click on the Links Gallery's tab;
  • Look to the left of the Links gallery, you'll see the Site Links;
  • Next, simply drag the page’s name from the Site Links list and drop it on an object. If you are editing, say, HomePage and want to add a link that will take your viewer to your AboutUs page, simply drag the link titled AboutUs from Site Links to your object on the HomePage. It is that simple!

To Add Links to Other Sites
  • Right click on the object or selection of text you want the link to;
  • Choose Add/Edit Link from the resulting menu;
  • Enter a title in the dialog, any title will do, no one sees it;
  • Enter the full URL to the page you want to link to in the URL field;
  • Click OK and the link is added to the object.
Note that a "full URL" is like "http://www.webstudio.com". It includes the "http://" as well as the rest of the address.

To add an Email Link
  • Right click on the object or selection of text you want the link to;
  • Choose Add/Edit Link from the resulting menu;
  • Enter a title in the dialog, any title will do, no one sees it;
  • Enter "mailto:" and then the email address. So, if the email address were "techsupport@webstudio.com" you would enter

             mailto:techsupport@webstudio.com

  • Click OK and the email link is added to the object.
