Learning Web Studio 4.0
Web Studio 4.0 has been acknowledged as the easiest to use web design software there is. Why, then, would we write an article about learning how to use it?

The answer is that although it is very easy to use to create a site, there are numerous features in the program that enable you to do things quicker and to do things you didn't know it could do.

For example, did you know there are six different ways to add objects to your pages? Or did you know there are six different ways to select objects?

How about the Galleries? Did you know you can move them? Did you know you can turn the Toolbars into floating windows?

We have to admit that if you don't know about these and many other features it is because the documentation for Web Studio hasn't provided that information.

With Web Studio 4.0 we decided it was time to document how to do everything the program knows how to do! There are 28 chapters that cover everything from using galleries, working with objects, uploading your site, to how to use the HTML object and expand Web Studio's capabilities in almost unlimited ways.

The documentation can be found in Web Studio 4.0's Help Menu under the Web Studio Documentation command.

The documentation is the first part of the Learning Web Studio 4.0 equation. The second is something we're very excited about...Video Tutorials

These tutorials show you how to use Web Studio in a visual way. Each video illustrates a section in the documentation, with each collection of videos illustrating an entire chapter.

We've added the first collection of Video Tutorials to our website. They illustrate Chapter 6 - Working with Objects

Topics covered include adding objects to a page, selecting objects, editing an object's contents, moving, resizing, cropping, duplicating, aligning, distributing, rotating, merging and stacking objects.

We'll be adding additional collections of Video Tutorials as they are completed.

Go check out the first collection, we guarantee you'll learn something valuable that you never knew Web Studio could do. Click here to go directly to the Video Tutorial page.

To go there on you own, you'll want to go to our site and surf through these pages: Resources>LearningCenters>Tutorials>VideoTutorials

President's Corner

Here we are again, sending news and tips at an accelerated rate.

This issue's main intent is to let you know that we have finished the changes necessary to the Content Gallery on our website to enable the content to be downloaded and installed into Web Studio 4.0. Click here to visit the Content Gallery.

We have also added to our Learning Center on the website. The new additions are video tutorials that show how to use Web Studio 4.0. See the feature article about how the videos couple with our documentation to facilitate rapid mastery of all of Web Studio 4.0's many features.

Did You Know
...The Content Collection is available on-line for Web Studio 4.0?
The Content Gallery on our website is where you can download new art for your Web Studio galleries. Until now it was only compatible with Web Studio 3, not 4.0.

The good news is it is now compatible with 4.0 as well as version 3!

Just visit the site, go to the Resources page, click on Content Gallery and then choose whatever content you want. Note that if you choose Open in the download dialog, the content will automatically download and install into your Web Studio's galleries.

If you choose to Save, save it to a location on your hard drive that you will remember. Once the download is finished, go to that location, double click on the installer and it will install in your Web Studio galleries.

When you click on the gallery that you've downloaded content for, it will show up at the beginning of the gallery as a thumbnail with a small yellow folder on it. Just double click the thumbnail and a sub-gallery will be opened containing the new content.

...Web Studio 4.0 has Hi-Quality Printing?

We've greatly enhanced the printing in version 4.0. With the previous 3 versions, printouts were done at screen resolution. This meant text was jagged and graphics were pixilated.

Now, text will print at the full resolution of your printer and graphics print at the resolution you give them.

This last statement deserves some comment.

When you add a graphic of any kind to 4.0 it checks to see how large it is. If it is over 600 pixels high or wide, it will ask if you want to have it automatically resized. If you do this, the resolution goes down, which is a very good thing for graphics going to the web. If you are creating a page to print, however, you'll want to leave the resolution alone and not have the program resize the graphics.

How good is the printing? We use Web Studio for all of our presentations now, we've finally said "good bye" to PowerPoint!
