Welcome to Web Studio 5.0
This is the third in a series of emails designed to help you get the most out of your evaluation of Web Studio. Today you will learn about buttons, menus and links.
Buttons
Everyone who surfs the net is familiar with buttons. When your visitors click on a button, they expect to go to another page on your site or somewhere else on the internet. That is because buttons contain links.
There are three types of buttons:
Normal.
These buttons always look the same. The do not change when the mouse is moved over them or when they are clicked.
Rollover.
These buttons change in some way when you move the mouse over them or click them.
Graphic Rollover.
These buttons display a photo or graphic for one, two, or all three states: normal, mouse over, and mouse down.
The Buttons Gallery contains hundreds of buttons that you can use. You can even add buttons of your own into the gallery. See Chapter 5: Galleries to learn how to add items to the gallery.
Links
Links are the highways that take your visitors to a page on your website or any page on the internet. Links can be placed on photos, buttons, objects, text, or just about anything on your page.
Simple steps to link your pages:
1, Open the Links Gallery.
2. Drag and drop the page name from Site Links onto a Button. The page is now linked to the button.
Watch the Video Tutorial in the Links Group and read
Chapter 14: Links
to learn more.
Next I will show you the Menu Maker. You do not have to drag and drop links onto Menu Items, the Menu Maker does that for you!
Menus
Also known as drop-down menus, the Menu Maker is all that you need to make completely functioning menus on your site. The Menu Maker uses one or two graphics to make a menu. If you want the Menu Items to look different than the Main Menu, use two graphics. You can use buttons, photos, graphics, shapes, or just about any graphic to make a menu.
Simple steps to making menus:
1. Put one or two graphics on the page.
2. Select the graphic. If you have two, then select the Main Menu graphic first and then the Menu Item.
3. Click the Create tab > Menu Maker. This opens the Menu Maker Studio.
4. Add pages and links in the studio, then click on the "Save then Design Menu" button at the bottom.
5. Make your design choices, then close out of the Design Studio.
6. Click on a Preview Page command to see the menu in action.
The Menu Maker has the commands you need to complete your menu. Watch the Video Tutorial by clicking the little arrow at the bottom of the group and read
